Dogwood

Watercolor
Arches 140#CP

The dogwoods are performing their annual ballet throughout the woodlands ... LOVE the joyous celebration of white and pink among the spring greens!

I began this painting plein air and finished in the studio.

Oh my very favorite spring tree, especially when the white and pink ones are mixed together.

We have a cemetery in Lexington which prides itself on it's natural flowering trees and flowers. One of the roads in it is commonly called Dogwood lane -- both sides of the road are lined with pink dogwoods and there are several white dogwoods throughout the cemetery. Really gorgeous.

Your painting brought all that to mind. Photographers have long made that cemetery a place to photograph but none of those photos can compare to your gorgeous painting Lin.
Big hugs,
Lorraine
