Winter Wonderland - In my Dreams

1/8 Sheet
Arches 140#CP

Though we FINALLY have a few 'snow flakes' in the weather predictions for this weekend and Tuesday, and a three-day cold front that will plunge our 60F temps to the low 20sF, this touch of winter will be over before we even know it came through.

Still, with hopes of seeing the white stuff before ALL the daffodils have bloomed (they're already up and dancing), I viewed Susie Short's (http://www.susieshort.com/) webpage and dreamed along with some of her snow scenes ... this small painting was inspired by them.

It'll be a mildly busy weekend with cheesecakes to bake for Charles' jam on Friday, errands to run, chores to do, and catching up with some organizing and housework ....hope to get a bit of time to paint. The workdays are so busy lately that I am longing for the relaxation and reneweal I find in the act of splashing paint and pigment across a page ....

Have a great weekend!

Oh Lin this is drop dead gorgeous. Everything about it -- the colors of blues are incredible -- also the shadows, and the way the snow edges are over the water are exactly as I have seen them over brooks in VT. And oh your trees -- incredible! This one has to be January on next year's calendar although it is difficult to choose given all the gorgeous snow paintings you've done this year.

We had snow a couple days ago and the trees were gorgeous with every branch covered but it only lasted part of the day. More predicted for tonight and tomorrow.

Enjoy your weekend and I hope you get to paint.
Big hugs,
Lorraine

Beautiful!!! That is the kind of snow I wouldn't mind being out in. Wonderful misty look to the background trees, and great shadows and reflections. Thumbs up for this one!!!

We had a dusting of snow the other night, but it didn't give us anything to work with. Snow is in the forecast for tonight into tomorrow but I don't know how much.

Have a great weekend!

Es ist wirklich eine Traumhafte Landschaft. Der Schnee wirkt so kalt und weich.
Eine wundervolle Stimmung herrscht in Deinem Bild.

Beautiful painting. It does look like that here. And it's bitterly cold.
