Hyacinth Bulb

Hyacinth Bulb
Originally uploaded by linfrye
When I was visiting my dd in January, T and I started this hyacinth bulb ... and in six weeks, this is how it's grown. I'm hoping it will flower by Easter!

(I apologize for the photo -- I do miss my scanner!! LOL)

We spent the day shopping for my daughter's workclothes yesterday -- got in rather late ...so sketching while tired sure influences the outcome! LOL

Oh, the glass is beautiful!! I always go to Flickr to see the bigger images and come back here to comment. You already get so many comments there ;D. I've probably asked you before, but could you post bigger images here? Your blog readers miss out a lot if they don't take the time to go to Flickr.
Hope you and Sue and I can go sketching together when I get back!

So nice to get back and catch up with everything you've done Lin. Your art just grows and matures and being away for a while just brought it to my attention again. Your nasturtiums are divine and this bulb is beautiful...I got one yesterday as a gift and looks just like yours, I can't wait for it to flower.

It's beautiful Lin -- the deep green, and purple contrasting with the glass -- and again, you've done a great job with the glass. Your work doesn't seem to suffer when you're tired!!!
Hugs,
Lorraine

This is lovely, Lin. The colors are luscious, and you've really got that glass.

The cut glass is perfect and the colors are stunning!

I too just love the way you've painted the glass, Lin. I let my bulb die because I was too much of a coward to attempt all those little roots through the glass. But now I can enjoy seeing you paint this one in bloom.

I have two about to flower in the garden - that's my sneaky way to avoid the roots ;)

I really like this one. Beautiful colors and I like how you did the glass with the bulb showing through. Lovely!!

I love the roots in the glass -- great bit of highlight there, and you can really feel the weight of the shape! (I'm like Laura - I go to Flickr to see the images larger and then come back here.)
;-D Glad you're having a fun visit -- shopping for clothes is always a good thing, even if they are for work.
