Nick Redex

Okay, call me stubborn! I could NOT rest until I tried little Nick again. I'm more pleased with this one -- but I will continue on these faces until my son can say "Oh YEAH! That's Nick. or Emily. or Charles...." SIGH

Lin,

It looks like you are coming along at about the same rate of speed with your drawing as I am (some good days and some bad days), I picked up a smudge stick from the art store and found it to be wonderful for working on portraits with pencil. I have done a couple that actually came out looking good (maybe not exactly like the subject yet, but getting alot closer. I do like these, you're getting there, keep on working on it.

Lin, it looks like you're getting there! With such a sweet model, it should be a lot of fun to draw him over and over again, though!

Sweet drawing, Lin, of an ADORABLE child! It might help you to think about the structure of the face as you're drawing--- the way the eyes sit in sockets, the roundness of cheeks and forehead, the connection between nose and mouth, that kind of thing. Then you won't feel so much at sea. You'll have something to hang the features on, so to speak. To mix a metaphor ;D.

Lin, that was me in the last comment. My old blogger identity confuses things and I forgot to switch when I wrote above.
